Today originally we were schedule to go to Tortuga for a few day stay to continue work on the Neighbor’s Project as well as doing VBS for the children of the island. In true Haiti fashion our plans changed and our team ended up staying on campus today to serve in the programs here in St. Louis. It was disappointing at first because a number of us are very eager to return to Tortuga. As usual God showed up, and completely blessed our day here. Many of us were able to do a variety of things here on campus.
A large group of our team spent a large portion of the day in the pharmacy checking dates to make sure that all of the medication had been updated and ready for distribution for the Haitians that utilize the clinic here.
Another group of people from our team participated in construction of the auquaponics program which will allow the mission to grow fish and a variety of vegetables that they can share with the community here. Our team was able to start digging ditches laying the foundation for this life changing ministry that is well on its way.
Some others were able to work in the nutrition program as well as spend time with the children in the orphanage. As you can see we were able to serve in a variety of ways today. As I reflect on this it is a great illustration of the work that goes on here. So many needs, so many ways to serve, so many ways to be blessed. We are honored and humbled to be able to serve here.
