Thoughts from Jennifer

I have no surgical skills, however, it has been a great priviledge to be able to work amongst these talented individuals. Since arriving, I have watched the nurses, physicians and their assistants work from dawn to dusk. It is clear that these individuals want to be here and are truly dedicated to this mission, especially when they tell you that they have been coming back year after year.

I have been paying visits to the Miriam Center each morning this week. I am taken aback by how welcoming the children are and how easily they latch onto you. Although I have no experience in pediatric physical therapy, I have enjoyed being able to play with and experiment with different treatment techniques. The children adapt so well and find the most creative ways of getting around. They are so agreable and do not complain. They fall down and get back up without any fuss. You stretch a tight muscle and they do not wimper. They simply smile at you and once in awhile, you get a little giggle. These are the toughest kids I have ever seen and they are an absolute joy to work with.
